Free Water Birth Video Clips

Each water birth video captures the soothing effect that water has on a laboring mother. Research supports that it is the most effective method of natural pain relief available to women giving birth.

The first waterbirth video depicts an unassisted natural home waterbirth, wherein the mother gives birth at home without the assistance of a trained medical professional. She might choose to have her husband, other family members, or friends present as well, and may seek the support of a doula, but will not have a physician, midwife or other health care professional in attendance.

One of the little-considered negative aspects of a hospital birth is the potential for restrictions on video recordings of the actual birth. Many hospitals will allow you to record during the labor and after the baby arrives, but forbid any taping during the actual birth. These restrictions on video recording stem from the potential for malpractice liability. If a family were to catch a medical mistake on tape, they could sue the hospital and attending physician.

A water birth video or childbirth video is always a good idea. While some hospitals or birth centers will not allow videotaping during the actual birth, it may still be worthwhile to capture the time before and after the birth. The nursing staff or your midwife might also be happy to take a hand in taping your first moments with your new family member!
